What will my child walk away with? The storytelling instincts and communication confidence of someone who has actually made films screened at TIFF, Fantasia, and Warsaw — because those skills are not reserved for filmmakers. The ability to construct a compelling narrative, hold an audience’s attention, and communicate with authentic presence are exactly what I teach, and they transfer to every context.

What can families expect? A working filmmaker and the Co-Founder and CEO of the Future of Film Showcase, a Toronto nonprofit dedicated to nurturing emerging Canadian filmmakers, who brings real industry experience into the classroom. Named one of York University’s 2025 Top 30 Under 30 Alumni, I understand what it takes to build something from a genuine vision.

What does class actually feel like? High-energy, practical, and genuinely inspiring. I believe students learn communication best when they are working toward something real, and I design classes that give them that sense of purpose. The gap between classroom exercise and genuine performance is one I work to close.

How do you challenge a curious mind? I raise the standard from competence to craft. A student who can communicate clearly needs to learn to communicate memorably — to make choices about structure, pacing, and detail that serve the audience rather than just the speaker. That is a filmmaker’s instinct, and it is entirely teachable.
