Thoughts on Brain Power: One of my favourite lessons that I took at Brain Power was the class on Valentine’s day, when we learned about different philosophers’ theories about what love means. I found the connection to the year’s theme of “what it means to be human” incredibly fascinating.

Thoughts on Brain Power: Brain Power transformed my seven-year journey from curious student to Harvard admission by teaching me something beyond academics: how to think authentically and find my voice. While my day school provided excellent foundational education, Brain Power’s advanced mathematics and writing programs helped me channel personal experiences—like caring for my grandmother with Alzheimer’s—into compelling research and a personal statement that captivated Harvard’s admissions committee.

Thoughts on Brain Power: I love Brain Power and have never been to or seen a school quite as effective at actually teaching bright students!

Talents: Politics, finance, and mathematics

Thanks for the post class email. I really appreciate the update.

Ethan came out of the BrainPower class this past Tuesday, excited and interested, and giving me an overview of the class.

It has been a long time since I heard him say positive things about an after-school class, and I am feeling encouraged.

Thanks for an engaging first class, and I hope he will be encouraged to continue developing his Math and problem solving skills.

Ethan used to be really good in Math, and participated in Math Caribou and Gauss contests in his lower grades. However, he seemed to have since lost interest in Math in the past 2 years.

I am hoping that he can find that joy in learning Math again through BrainPower.

Thank you again.

Cheers,
Denise

Tony,

Good morning. I just wanted to send a note of thanks this morning. Last night Erin was absolutely beaming with joy after leaving class. She told us all about the class and how much fun it was. As soon as we got home she taught me how to do magic squares. As we were talking, the one thing she was annoyed about is that class ended; in her words, “I wish it had gone past 10 o’clock!” She has now adopted her squishy toy and called it her study buddy and put mine on my desk to help me at work.

I can’t thank you enough for doing such a great job engaging the kids last night. The passion, excitement and pride in mathematics are coming back for Erin and we are grateful. We also genuinely appreciate your thoughtful and detailed note as we now know what we can do to be helpful parents. Please always reach out if there is anything we can do to help.

Regards,
Katie & Chris
