B.Sc., M.Sc., PG Diploma
Subject: Math and Problem Solving
What will my child walk away with? A genuine understanding of mathematics as a tool for making sense of the real world, developed through instruction from someone whose research background spans genomics, proteomics, and computational biology. My M.Sc. in Human Genomics and Professor cum Research Scientist experience at Centennial College give me a precise, research-grounded understanding of what rigorous quantitative thinking actually requires.
What can families expect? A teacher dedicated to building strong foundational skills, logical reasoning, and mathematical creativity in every student. I have designed and taught courses requiring strong quantitative reasoning at the post-secondary level, and I bring that same standard of precision and clarity to how I work with Brain Power students.
What does class actually feel like? Accessible, intellectually honest, and genuinely exciting. I believe mathematics becomes most compelling when students can see its practical relevance, and my research background gives me an unusually rich source of real-world examples to draw from. Students consistently discover that the mathematics they are learning connects to questions that actually matter.
How do you challenge a curious mind? I give students problems that connect mathematical reasoning to genuine scientific and analytical questions — the kinds of problems my own research required me to solve. A curious student who is already technically capable benefits most from understanding what their mathematical skills make possible at the next level.
Credentials and Experience M.Sc. in Human Genomics. B.Sc. in Biotechnology. Advanced Fast-Track Diploma in Biotechnology, Centennial College. Research experience in genomics, proteomics, microbiology, nanotechnology, and computational biology applying statistical analysis and mathematical modeling. Professor, Scientist, Educational Assistant, and Tutor at Centennial College. Teaching approach centered on foundational skills, logical reasoning, and mathematical creativity.
Why Natasha? Why Brain Power?
My research showed me that mathematical thinking is the engine behind some of the most important scientific work happening right now, and I teach because I want students to understand that connection as early as possible. Brain Power’s emphasis on genuine critical thinking over rote procedure is exactly the standard that kind of teaching requires.
