What will my child walk away with? A more precise, confident, and expressive relationship with language — as a speaker, a writer, and a critical thinker. My decade of language education experience, combined with a background in theatre and a master’s degree focused on popular linguistics, gives me an unusually rich toolkit for teaching students to find and use their authentic voice.
What can families expect? A multilingual educator with rich intercultural experience across three countries who brings creativity, performance skills, and genuine linguistic expertise into the classroom. I have taught English language, critical reasoning, literary analysis, debate, and test preparation to students from Grade 3 through Grade 12, and I adapt fluidly to the needs of each group.
What does class actually feel like? Creative, engaging, and a little theatrical. My background in theatre means I understand how presence, timing, and delivery shape communication, and I bring those insights into how I teach both writing and speaking. Students often discover dimensions of their own expressive range they did not know they had.
How do you challenge a curious mind? I give students the linguistics behind the language. Understanding how phonology, syntax, and historical change shape the words we use gives curious students a new layer of analytical depth that makes them more precise and more interesting communicators.

Living and teaching experience across three countries.
Why Tim? Why Brain Power?
I believe language learning is one of the most culturally enriching experiences a student can have, and I teach it that way — as a window into how human beings think, communicate, and construct meaning across cultures and time. Brain Power students are curious enough to appreciate that depth.
