What will my child walk away with?  A genuine ability to dig beneath the plot of a story and talk about what it’s really doing, along with the confidence to share that reading out loud in a group.

What can families expect?  A kind, inclusive, and safe learning environment from an educator with five years of experience, including as a high school English teacher and a gallery facilitator at the ROM.

What does class actually feel like?  Discussion-driven and engaging. I focus on guided conversation that builds real intrinsic motivation, not just comprehension checks.

How do you challenge a curious mind?  I bring the same lens I used in my graduate work, asking what a text is doing beneath its surface, and invite curious students into that same kind of close, critical reading in our discussions.

Credentials and Experience  I hold an Honours BA in English, Psychology, and Classical Studies and an MA in English from the University of Toronto, the latter funded by the Viola Whitney Pratt Memorial Scholarship in English and the Shane Baghai Fellowship in English. My research focuses on 19th century British literature, the Gothic, and psychoanalytic criticism, including a capstone project I presented at a conference on the presence of children within the Gothic. I have five years of teaching experience, most notably as a high school English teacher and gallery facilitator at the ROM.
