What will my child walk away with? A genuine conviction that mathematics is not a subject some people are born understanding and others are not — it is a discipline that rewards curiosity, and I have spent my career proving that. My ALM in Mathematics from Harvard, combined with teaching Calculus to AP, IB, and Engineering standards, gives me a precise understanding of what rigorous mathematical thinking looks like and how to build toward it at every level.
What can families expect? A warm, engaging teacher who has worked with students from Grade 6 through PhD level, served as a SAT trainer, and placed students in leading universities around the world as a University Admissions Coach. I bring that full range of experience into how I support each student, academically and beyond the classroom.
What does class actually feel like? Like a genuine invitation into something worth caring about. I believe calculus can bring as profound a joy as Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony or Maurice Sendak’s In the Night Kitchen — and I teach with that conviction. Students who arrive uncertain about mathematics consistently leave curious about it.
How do you challenge a curious mind? I developed my approach to teaching Calculus while leading Engineering Outreach programs at U of T Engineering for Grades 9 through 12, and I have refined it ever since. Capable students need to understand not just how a method works but why it works, and that deeper understanding is where real mathematical confidence is built.
