Hussam Althunayyan
B.Sc. (Mathematics), M.Sc. (Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics)
What will my child walk away with? Sharper critical thinking and stronger time-management under pressure, not just correct answers, so students are genuinely ready to perform at a high academic level.
What can families expect? Instruction from someone who fell in love with teaching math long before it was ever his job, tutoring classmates and lecturing at the blackboard purely because he loved the work.
What does class actually feel like? Rigorous, but with real enthusiasm behind it. I bring the same voluntary energy I had as a student tutor into every lesson, because I still genuinely enjoy the material.
How do you challenge a curious mind? I draw on my experience supporting gifted college students at Northwestern to help curious students strengthen their reasoning and time management as they work through each lesson, not just calculate faster.
Credentials and Experience I earned my MSc in Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics from Northwestern University and my BSc in Mathematics from Qassim University. I went on to teach mathematics at the college level at Northwestern, supporting gifted students in strengthening their critical-thinking and time-management skills, and I currently serve as a math teacher at IFS.
Why Hussam? Why Brain Power?
Teaching math is the career I chose, not the one I fell into, because I discovered as a student myself how much I loved explaining a hard problem until it finally clicked. Brain Power students get an instructor who brings that same voluntary enthusiasm to every single lesson.
