What can families expect? An award-winning playwright, accomplished actor, and sought-after workshop artist who has empowered thousands of youth and adults to communicate with genuine confidence. My 2021 Voaden Prize in playwriting and my extensive performance credits across theatre and film reflect the same commitment to craft that I bring into the classroom.
What does class actually feel like? Dynamic, technically rigorous, and genuinely theatrical. I studied with Broadway legend Uta Hagen and have spent years studying theatrical clown with Helen Donnelly and Francine Cote of Cirque du Soleil fame, and I draw on that range of training to give students a multidimensional experience of what authentic communication can look like.
How do you challenge a curious mind? I give students theatrical challenges that require full commitment — not careful self-monitoring, but genuine presence. A curious student who is already articulate needs to learn what it feels like to actually inhabit their own voice rather than manage it, and theatre training is one of the most direct paths to that experience.
