What will my child walk away with?  Sharper critical thinking skills and a genuine passion for reading, not just the ability to complete an assignment. My students leave able to construct and defend an argument with real rigor.

What can families expect?  A student-centred approach built around your child’s actual needs, whether that means catching up to grade level or pushing well beyond it. I orient every lesson around where your child actually is.

What does class actually feel like?  Discussion-based and genuinely philosophical. Students are encouraged to question the text and each other’s interpretations, not simply accept a single reading.

How do you challenge a curious mind?  I draw on philosophical traditions like German Idealism and political philosophy to ask students bigger ‘why’ questions about the texts they’re reading, pushing bright students past surface-level comprehension.

Credentials and Experience  I earned my Honours BA in History and Philosophy and my BEd with a certificate in social justice from Queen’s University, followed by an MA from Western University’s Centre for Theory and Criticism. My academic work, presented at institutions including Western and the CUNY Graduate Center, focuses on the intersection of German Idealism, philosophy of language, and political philosophy. My teaching experience includes work as a teacher’s aide, a TA for Western’s philosophy department, and summer camp counselling.
