What will my child walk away with?  The ability to articulate their ideas clearly, speak with confidence in front of others, and structure their thinking with real precision, skills I’ve spent a decade developing in students across studio critique and speaking settings alike.

What can families expect?  Instruction from a working artist and published author who has spent his career translating ideas into words others can actually understand, in critique rooms and classrooms alike.

What does class actually feel like?  Critique-driven and direct. Students learn to explain and defend their thinking the way an artist defends a body of work, with clarity and confidence rather than hesitation.

How do you challenge a curious mind?  Drawing on my own studio practice, which explores the tension between how people present themselves and how they’re truly understood, I push students to close that gap in their own speaking and writing.

Credentials and Experience  I earned my BA from Wesleyan University and my MFA in Drawing and Painting from the University of Connecticut. I am a working visual artist and the author of The Artist’s Creative Vision (New Degree Press, 2023), with work exhibited internationally. I bring over a decade of teaching experience from institutions including Centennial College, Durham College, Yorkville University, the University of Connecticut, and Antioch College, spanning studio practice, art history, and creative entrepreneurship, and I communicate in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
