What will my child walk away with? A genuine love of mathematics and science developed through instruction from a teacher who is passionate about both and committed to teaching them in ways that build real critical thinking rather than surface compliance. My OCT certifications span elementary, secondary Health and Physical Education, and Grade 9 through 12 Science, giving me a wide range for meeting students where they are.

What can families expect? A teacher whose core philosophy is built around empowering students’ sense of self and equipping them with the skills to become not just strong students but successful, global citizens. I use multi-modal and diverse techniques because I know that banking models of education, where knowledge is simply deposited rather than critically analyzed, do not produce genuine thinkers.

What does class actually feel like? Inclusive, engaging, and genuinely student-centered. I create learning spaces where students feel safe to think critically, take intellectual risks, and develop the lifelong learning habits that serve them far beyond any single course or exam.

How do you challenge a curious mind? I push students toward the kind of thinking that transfers across disciplines — the ability to question assumptions, evaluate evidence, and construct their own understanding rather than receive someone else’s. A curious student who already grasps standard content needs to encounter the deeper conceptual questions that standard content is built on. These techniques also foster stronger growth mindset skills.
