What will my child walk away with? The ability to think for themselves, to engage deeply with ideas and with each other, and to develop a genuine love of learning! Just as importantly, they will see how everything we cover connects back to the real world.

Through my work, coaching entrepreneurs at a capital advisory firm, I see firsthand how the skills students build here translate directly into the real world. Clear thinking, persuasive speaking, and knowing how to read a room and connect with people are the exact skills that move ideas forward in business, in interviews, and in any room they’ll one day walk into. My experience spans virtual program development for high school students, education strategy for a medical company, mentorship through government programs, and years of tutoring in reading and writing.

That range is what lets me bring the outside world into the classroom, so students aren’t just learning to do well on an assignment, they’re building skills they’ll actually carry with them for a lifetime.

What can families expect? A passionate, engaging teacher who takes your child’s ideas seriously. I bring real energy to the room and keep students genuinely involved rather than passively listening. I am warm, but I am not soft on substance. I push students to be precise, to back up what they say, and to have the confidence to say it out loud. I have taught K-12 students and adult learners, locally and internationally, adapting to every type of learner.

What does class actually feel like? Active, curious, genuinely fun, and centred on the students themselves. Students leave excited about what we covered, and that excitement is what makes the thinking stick. The best learning happens when students start making connections, between ideas, between subjects, and between the material and their own lives. I build each class to spark exactly that.

How do you challenge a curious mind? I take their curiosity seriously and challenge them to understand why their words work. Not just whether a sentence is correct, but why one phrasing lands and another falls flat, why an argument convinces, why a story holds a room. I want students to grasp the reasoning behind strong writing and speaking, then keep using it until it becomes instinct. For me, the real challenge lives in the questions I ask. Why did you choose that word? What are you really trying to say? What would make someone believe you? Those questions tell a student I believe they can go deeper, and over time they build the confidence and competence to do exactly that.
