What will my child walk away with? The ability to communicate with clarity and confidence — because the skills that make a news host and reporter effective on air are exactly the skills that make a student compelling in any high-stakes communication context.

What can families expect? A long-time CBC News host and reporter with more than a decade of experience in live television and radio across Canada and Australia, who has worked behind the scenes in newsrooms and on Canadian award shows, and has training in classical singing and acting. I bring all of that cross-disciplinary experience into how I teach communication.

What does class actually feel like? Supportive, rigorous, and practical. I believe curiosity and critical thinking are the foundations of effective communication, and my classes are designed to develop both.

How do you challenge a curious mind? I challenge my students to present information in a way that is accurate, clear, and genuinely engaging for an audience that has no prior knowledge of the subject. My classes often use real-world examples so students can develop communication skills that can be applied in any circumstance and at any level.
