Steve Robison
B.A. (Telecommunications & English) — Texas Tech UniversitySubject: Public Speaking
What will my child walk away with? Real confidence, clarity, and presence speaking in front of an audience, built the same way professional broadcasters develop their own on-air voice.
What can families expect? Mentorship from an award-winning broadcasting professional who has spent years coaching on-air talent and public speakers to connect authentically with an audience.
What does class actually feel like? Engaging and practical. We focus on actually building comfort speaking in front of others, not just talking about the theory behind it.
How do you challenge a curious mind? I help students discover their own individual speaking voice rather than imitate someone else’s, drawing on years of coaching on-air talent to bring out what’s authentic in each speaker.
Credentials and Experience: I graduated from Texas Tech University and built a career as an award-winning radio Program Director, helping launch stations including 94.5 The Buzz and Houston’s first Adult Alternative station, 103.7 FM, as well as stations in Birmingham, Alabama. I bring over 10 years of experience in digital radio, including leading content strategy for NASA’s Third Rock Radio, which reaches more than one million monthly listeners, and I currently co-host the nationally syndicated program Long Live Rock. I have also worked extensively as a host, interviewer, and emcee for charitable and corporate events.
Why Steve? Why Brain Power?
I believe the ability to speak with confidence, clarity, and purpose is far more than a performance skill, it’s a foundation for success in the classroom and far beyond it. Brain Power students get an instructor who is genuinely committed to helping them find their voice, develop their presence, and become confident communicators.
